Here in S4 we have a very busy class made up of pupils from both Key Stage 3 and 4. We love working with our friends in S3 to make our learning more fun. We are focusing on developing our communication skills and social skills this term as well as working on our independent life skills within our community. We have enjoyed starting our cookery, art, swimming and music lessons so far as well as our trip to the Rinkha on the bus. Our theme this term is Marvellous Me and we are enjoying getting to know our new friends.

J14 have had a busy and fun start to the term. Our topic has been ‘All About Me’ and we have been learning more about ourselves and about our classmates. We have been working hard on our literacy and numeracy skills as well as taking part in lots of other activities throughout the week.

We have really enjoyed meeting together with S1 for PE on a Tuesday afternoon and again on a Friday morning for circle time. We have enjoyed playing some parachute games, and we created our very own J14 and S1 name web.

In art we have been creating our Monster Glyphs and doing artistic impressions of ourselves using clay and collage materials. For cookery, we have been busy making top hats and pizza faces.

We have really enjoyed our bus outings so far, we have been developing our social skills and life skills going out for break in cafes and doing out cookery shopping in Tescos. We also managed a visit to a local park – it’s been great fun!

J4 is a foundation stage class made up of 5 boys in year two. In our class we enjoy a play based approach to learning. We also have lots of opportunities to use the different resources within the school such as soft play, outdoor area and the sensory rooms. We take part in music, signing and sensory activities alongside Attention Autism, Tac Pac and body awareness to help us learn, develop new skills and meet our targets. We are very busy having fun learning to grow in J4.

J2 is a foundation stage class made up with Primary 1 pupils. In our class we enjoy a play based approach to learning throughout our school day in all areas of the NI Curriculum which is adjusted to suit our needs. We focus on developing social and communication skills such as listening, following instructions, making requests and waiting our turn, and forming good habits to promote future learning and development. We are very busy throughout the school day and enjoy using our outdoor areas, the lights rooms and sensory areas to do Tac Pac and reflexology and soft play to burn off some energy. We also love Attention Autism, music, singing and sensory play activities.

We’re a very busy class but we make sure to have lots of fun during the day too.

Welcome to Hill Croft Nursery class.

We are excited about exploring our topics through play. This term our topics will include All about me, Autumn, Nursery Rhymes, Christmas and Winter. We will be creating pictures and completing craft activities, enjoying cookery and having fun in our different areas in the school.

We are looking forward to using Tac Pac in our lights room, finding our pictures on the interactive mat in the sensory lounge and having a great time in our soft play area.

We are a very busy bunch in Nursery so keep an eye out for us and read about our adventures on our face book page and here on the website.
