We had a brilliant first term in J8. We have all made lots of new friends and have settled really well into all our new class routines. We have enjoyed cookery, art, attention autism, class outings and P.E as well as working and playing hard too! Our new topic is ‘Space’ so keep an eye out for some topic based photos coming up this term.

It’s been such a busy term in J2. Our topics were ‘Songs and Stories’ and then ‘Christmas!’ which is always the most fun. We made mice with the playdough and made ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ run up and down the clock during play, explored a star themed sensory tray in ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ and were singing ‘Little Donkey’ in our sleep as we got ready for our Christmas Play. The Christmas house corner was a huge hit, with lots of present opening, tree decorating and of course art and cookery in between all the special Christmas events and parties!

T1 have been busy doing lots of different cookery for their OCN and target work.

S1 have been getting into the festive spirit. This morning we enjoyed a Christmas breakfast club at our favourite hangout, Pots of Pleasure and then went out and about school selling our handmade decorations to staff. Thank you to all the staff who supported us. We've made enough to fund our butterfly project and gardening projects next year!

Welcome to J6! We are an inquisitive and energetic foundation class made up from P2/P3 aged children.

Our focus is on building our language and literacy skills, numeracy skills and our self-help and independence skills in an engaging and meaningful way.

We love to explore new environments, experiment with ideas during play and learn all about new exciting topics. We also enjoy playing with our friends and being out and about in the local community.

We are always eager to have fun!

S1 have been enjoying going for walks to find out about places to visit in our local area for our ASDAN module. We walked to the mill to visit the museum and went on a nature trail to collect leaves, conkers, beeries and sticks to make some land art back at school. We think we did a great job!

J13 had a Parent Open Morning at Laurelview Equestrian Centre to complete their 6 week riding course. The photos below show pupils receiving their certificates but also a brave class member with his mum. One of the pupils was very scared of the horses each week but last week for the first time approached and stroked Guinness the horse. His mum was delighted to witness this achievement first hand again this week! Well done J13!

Play Dates is back on Tuesdays from 2 - 3.30pm. All children from the local area (up to Primary 2 ) with a learning difficulty and their parents/carers are welcome to attend. Come along and help your child learn through play, while getting support and advice from some of our school staff. We look forward to seeing you there.

This year T2 is comprised of of 11 lively and eager to work young people. Our class focus is to prepare the students for life after school. The T2 programme is a very practical one with an emphasis on developing independence, social, coping and life skills. Throughout the year we will be working on developing the young people’s independent travel, money and shopping skills and helping them manage their own bank accounts. We do this through a mixture of activities including using local facilities, healthy eating cookery, and grocery shopping. This year we are working on modules from OCN which will involve health and fitness, mental health and wellbeing, healthy eating and shopping. The young people take part in work experience every Thursday based in school where they work together to develop their time management and personal relationships with their peers. We are joining Rostulla for shared education this year which the young people are very excited about. We are looking forward to a fun filled year.
