Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been a difficult week in Hill Croft. We have had 8 positive COVID cases in the last 9 days. These cases have been amongst staff and pupils and across 4 of the 6 zones around the school.

We are confident that we have done all we can to minimise risk to the school community in all the safety measures that we have in place and continue to work closely with Public Health and EA. Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to close the school on Friday 22 January to allow for a thorough deep clean of the building. It is hoped that this will provide a circuit break for infections and allow for the school to open again safely on Monday.

I ask that you remain in contact with your child's class teacher via see-saw and are vigilant in monitoring your child's own health over the weekend. If he/she is unwell at all we urge you please to keep them safely at home until they are fit and well again to avoid the spread of any infection to the rest of the class.

Class bubbles who are currently isolating should continue to follow the PHA letters re when they can return to school. It is anticipated that classes will open again on Monday, dependent on sufficient staff being available and well.

I appreciate that this is inconvenient but I hope you will understand that the safety of all if our prime concern at this difficult time.

Keep safe and well,
Roz McFeeters
