Sensory 3 is a class of 7: 6 brilliant boys and 1 amazing girl. The teacher is Megan and the Learning Support Assistants are Kerry, Lynne and Kelly. In our class we are working to develop our understanding of the world around us, our social and emotional skills, our communication skills, our physical skills and our life skills like making choices, eating, drinking, and toileting. We access the curriculum through tailored sensory activities, 1:1 work and play. We love to engage with and regulate through activities such as Intensive Interaction, TacPac, Body Awareness, Sensology, Attention Autism and sensory stories.

We work closely with other agencies such as Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and specialised nurses in order to ensure our provision is the best it can be. In Sensory 3 we cater for a range of medical needs daily.

Sensory 3 have settled back into routine well and have built upon their relationships with staff to create a warm, caring, fun environment to learn and thrive in. We have enjoyed exploring our All About Me topic in September. We are looking forward to our next topic, The Circus is in Town alongside Autumn and Halloween themed fun and games! In the year ahead we will be exploring the topics of Winter/Christmas, Animals and The Magic Carpet Ride.
