Hill Croft School

Parent Teacher Association

Hill Croft Parent Teacher Association is a keen group of parents, carers, and teacher representatives who make a real contribution to the quality of school life. Schools like Hill Croft really do benefit from having a Parent Teachers Association (PTA), as they provide the "little extras" that would not be available from the Education Authority. Over the past number of years Hill Croft PTA have provided funding for Duke of Edinburgh equipment, buggies, additional funding for Summer Scheme, resources for horticulture projects and class treats.

Although fundraising is a major part of what the PTA do, there’s a lot more to it than that!  Our PTA is part of our school community and our PTA members meet monthly to form friendships and come up with ideas to support school.

In a nutshell, PTA members also provide a willing workforce for school when extra hands are needed, for example providing refreshments for school Christmas performances, Sports Days and Prize Giving ceremonies.

As like any group, we always welcome new members, you don't need any qualifications to join you just need some spare time, lots of enthusiasm and be a parent or family member of a child attending Hill Croft School. The varied work means there's something for everyone - it's not just about being on the committee.

If you would like to donate to our PTA, you can do so through PayPal. Scan the QR code below or search in PayPal for @HillCroftPTA.  All donations are gratefully received and all money goes back into school to benefit the pupils.

PTA Total

When your child goes to a Special School you don't have the same chance to meet other parents at the school gate or in the school playground. By being part of the PTA, you get to be involved in the school and meet other parents and staff and make a positive contribution to the school.
At first I wasn't sure about being part of the PTA as I thought it might involve a lot of time and commitment. I soon realised that there's not a lot expected, you can do as much or as little as suits you but its very rewarding knowing that you're helping to make a positive contribution to your child's school.
A single voice may be powerless, but the collective efforts of a group of parents can move mountains to create a better educational environment for our children. As a member of the PTA, you are not just an individual, but a part of a community that is dedicated to supporting and improving our schools.
