Child Protection and Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Hill Croft School is everyone’s responsibility, and we are fully committed to keeping all pupils safe, happy, and well supported. We create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where pupils are listened to, respected, and protected, and where concerns are acted upon promptly by trained staff. Our strong safeguarding culture is reflected in our commitment statement: “I am safe in Hill Croft School – it is a happy place to be.” This underpins all we do and guides our daily practice, relationships, and decision‑making.
The safeguarding team at Hill Croft School plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every pupil. They work proactively and sensitively with all staff to identify concerns early, listen carefully, and take appropriate action to ensure pupils are safeguarded at all times. The team works closely with families and external agencies when needed, following clear procedures to respond swiftly and effectively. Through training, vigilance, and strong relationships, the safeguarding team helps to create a safe, trusted environment where pupils are protected and supported to thrive.

This pupil‑friendly safeguarding poster is important as it uses simple language, symbols, and visuals, to support pupils to recognise who they can talk to if they are worried or feel unsafe. It also plays a key role in promoting a consistent safeguarding message across the school that pupils can recognise and understand every day.
